Park up and Let Your Hair Down at Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair in London

on

The Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is back for it’s 14th year and it’s packing quite a punch.

The What:

Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is the day the art-world parks up in Brick Lane Yard to celebrate art, food and of course, cars. The organizers of the fair ensure a fantastic line-up of established and up-and-coming artists who will be pitching up their works of art out of the back of new and vintage Vauxhall Cars.

Yes, that’s right. Art in the boot of a car. Now, the name makes sense, doesn’t it?

The Art:

Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair founder and curator, Karen Ashton, comments, “This year the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is bringing a slew of new talent into the car park, incredible performances, unbelievable art bargains and an ecstatic never-seen-before dog show to boot.”

So apart, from being able to buy art from boots of cars, the fair will also host a one-of-a-kind Dog in a boot show. Artists will present a myriad of canine influenced art work and all dogs (good-natured, of course) are welcome with their owners. They will have a one-off chance to be photographed with their owners in a car boot by artist Maria Teresa Gavazzi! A little birdie tells us, that there is even a Best in Boot prize.

The Food:

What’s art without some food, right? As a guest you get to have amazing food and drinks in the manner of:

Bar de Cru – a mobile cocktail bar serving custom cocktails
Electric Dog – Not an ordinary hot dog! Fresh ingredients served creatively eg – chorizo instead of the simple sausage adds a delicious twist to a classic dish loved by all.
Cloud Nine Marshmallows – Exquisite marshmallows that are adapted from a traditional French recipe and prepared in small batches – convivial childhood favourites transformed into luxurious puffs of perfection
St John Bread & Wine
Nude Expresso Café
