Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
- 1/4 c. unsalted butter 59ml
- 6 T minced onion 69g
- 1 1/3 C Cider Vinegar 315ml
- 1 1/3 C Ketchup 315ml
- 1 C Packed Dark Brown Sugar 227g
- 1/4 C Brewed Coffee 59ml
- 1 t Worcestershire sauce 5ml
- 1/4 t cayenne pepper 1g

Instructions
- Melt butter in a heavy saucepan.
- Saute onions in the butter for 3 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat and simmer until sauce is reduced to about 2 2/3C (630ml), which takes approximately 30 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.

Sauce can be prepared ahead and held refrigerated for 1 week.
