Copycat KFC Fried Chicken Recipe
Think ‘fried chicken’ and KFC almost always has the last world. KFC’s original fried chicken was created by its founder, Colonel Sanders and was fried in a pressure cooker, different from earlier versions of fried chicken.
The recipe was so successful that the Colonel was able to establish franchises cooking the chicken through America and charged a commission for every chicken dish sold. Today, KFC has outlets across the world still selling that original fried chicken.
What’s In It?
Considering its popularity, it’s no wonder that KFC closely guards its chicken recipe; rumour has it that the recipe is locked up in a vault in the brand’s headquarters. However, it has shared that the ‘Colonel’s Original Recipe’ is seasoned with a blend of 11 herbs and spices, hand breaded and then deep fried.
Copycat Kentucky Fried Chicken
While we don’t have that special combination of herbs and spices, we have come up with a fried chicken recipe that tastes pretty darn delicious, even if we do say so ourselves.
Whip it up for dinner or lunch and serve it with homemade fries and a salad (just to be healthy).
