Enid Blyton Hard Boiled Eggs Recipe

on

Have you been enjoying our collection of Enid Blyton inspired recipes? We firmly believe that Enid Blyton’s novels are partially the reason we have an obsession with British food and tea time snacks. Her characters in the Famous Five, Secret Seven, The Faraway Tree and so on are perpetually eating. The Famous Five, a group of children who trapeise through Britain solving mysteries make several stops through the day for meals; here’s a passage from Five Go Off in a Caravan –

“It was a most beautiful evening, with the lake as blue as a cornflower and the sky flecked with rosy clouds. They held their hard-boiled eggs in one hand and a piece of bread and butter in the other, munching happily. There was a dish of salt for everyone to dip their eggs into.”

Those Boiled Eggs Though

Only Enid Blyton could make boiled eggs sound so delicious. Hard boiled eggs are cooked in boiling water until the egg whites and yolks both become solid. Once cooked and cooled, the egg is peeled and eaten.

Hard boiled eggs are great for breakfast with toast or with a tea time snack.

Serve these eggs with a little salt or pepper and enjoy!
