Ingredients
- 9 ounces dark chocolate
- 9 ounces unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 7 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 3 tbsp bourbon or rum
- powdered sugar garnish

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Grease a 9-inch spring-form pan and line in with parchment paper.
- Grease it again.
- Over a double boiler, melt chocolate and butter then remove from the heat and stir.
- Add sugar and stir till combined then allow it to cool for a few minutes.
- Add eggs one by one, combining one and then adding the other.
- Keep stirring after combining the eggs till the mixture is thick and glossy.
- Add vanilla extract, almond extract, bourbon or rum and stir that in as well.
- Pour the batter in the greased pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Check the torte as it needs to a little wiggle unlike regular cakes.
- Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Unmold the torte and dust powdered sugar on top.
