Ingredients
- 1 ripe jackfruit
- 1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
- 2 Green chilies
- pinch Aof Turmeric Powder
For the seasoning
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 2 Red chilies
- a few curry leaves

Instructions
- Cut, peel and chop the jackfruit.
- Put the jackfruit pieces in a pressure cooker with a little water and a pinch of turmeric powder.
- Cook the jackfruit in the cooker for two to three whistles.
- Grind the coconut, and green chilies together. Keep aside.
- Once the jackfruit is cooked and cooled, mash the pieces gently with a wooden spoon until they break down.
- Fry the mustard seeds, urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves in the oil for a minute. Add the jackfruit pieces and sauté for a minute.
- Stir in salt to taste, and then mix in the green chilies and coconut paste.
- Add a teaspoon or two of coconut oil to the thoran and stir well.
- Remove from the flame and enjoy!
