Lahori Dal Recipe
Prepared in traditional Lahori style, the addition of cream or butter adds taste to the dish. Lahori Dal pairs well with chapati or naan, or even rice.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of whole masoor dal
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1/2 tbsp of red chilli powder
- tbsp of Turmeric powder
- 1 Thai green chilli
- 1/4 cup of Cream
- 2 tbsp of butter
- 1/2 tbsp of Cumin seeds
- 1/4 tbsp of red onion chopped finely
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/2 tbsp of lime
- 2 tbsp of Cream
- Salt-Add to taste

Instructions
- Boil the lentils in ½ cup of water till they turn soft and mash it well. To this, add the crushed garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, Thai green chilli and cream and mix well. Let it simmer until the dal thickens.
- Meanwhile, heat the butter in a small pan and add the cumin seeds. Once they start crackling, add the onions and garlic to it. Sauté it well.
- Pour this mixture on to the dal and add enough salt.
- Switch off heat and squeeze half the lime over it. Drizzle the 2 tbsp of cream over it as garnish once moved to a serving dish.
