Mawa Cake Recipe

Mawa is also known as khoya (or khoa), which is a popular dairy product consumed widely in India and its neighboring countries. The ingredient is used a lot in making sweets. Khoya is made with full cream or full fat milk that is simmered in an iron wok (kadhai) for several hours to finally give coagulated milk solids. Apart from sweets, mawa is also used in baking. For example, mawa biscuits  and mawa cake.

Instructions
  1. Place maida, sugar, butter, khoya, vanilla and baking powder in a bowl and beat well with a beater, till smooth. Add the eggs and beat it again. The batter should have dropping and smooth consistency. If not, add a little milk and beat again.
  2. Pour into muffin moulds/cake pan and bake in a pre-heated oven (180 C-360 F) 20-25 minutes. Insert a skewer or knife in the cake, if it comes out clean your cake is ready.
  3. Serve.
