Ingredients
- 3 tbsp tamarind paste
- Peel of 1 orange finely chopped
- 1 green chili
- 1 tbsp jiggery
- tsp ¼Turmeric Powder
- salt to taste

- 1 tbsp Oil
- tsp ½mustard seeds
- Few curry leaves
For Grinding
- 2 tsp chana dal
- 2-3 dry red chilies
- tsp ½Asafetida
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds

Instructions
- Heat a pan and dry roast the channa dal, dried red chilies and asafetida till the dal turns golden brown.
- Cool completely and powder in a grinder without using water.
- Roast sesame seeds separately until they start popping. Cool and powder separately.
- Heat the same oil in the pan and crackle the mustard seeds.
- Add curry leaves and chopped green chilies. Fry for a minute.
- Next add finely chopped orange peel and fry for a few minutes.
- Now add the tamarind paste.
- Add turmeric powder, salt and jaggery. Let this boil for 10 minutes on medium flame.
- When the mixture becomes a little thicker in consistency, add the roasted and powdered spices and mix well. Adjust seasoning and remove from heat.
- Finally add the powdered sesame.
- Serve.
