Strawberry Cake Recipe

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups cake flour*
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup butter cold, cut into small cubes
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 3/4 cup strawberry puree from about 1 1/2 cups strawberries
- 2 teaspoons vanilla

- 2 sticks butter softened
- pinch of Salt
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cup tablespoons strawberry puree from about 1/2strawberries

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour two 8 inch cake pans.
- In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the cake flour, all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat in the eggs one at a time. In a measuring cup, combine the milk, strawberry puree, and vanilla.
- Add half of the milk mixture to the flour mixture, and mix to combine.
- Add the other half of the milk mixture and mix until smooth. Divide between the prepared pans and bake 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before frosting.
- To make the frosting, beat the butter until light and fluffy. Add the salt, powdered sugar, and vanilla, and mix to combine.
- Add the strawberry puree and beat until light and fluffy. Frost cake as desired.
