Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes
- tsp ¾mustard seeds
- tsp ¾cumin seeds
- tsp ¼Asafetida Powder
- tsp ½grated ginger optional
- 1 green chili chopped
- 10-12 Curry Leaves
- 1-1 tbsp ½oil
- cup ¼Coriander Leaves chopped
- tsp ½lemon juice optional
- Grated coconut optional
- Sal to taste

Instructions
- Boil or steam the potatoes in a pressure cooker or steamer till of mash able consistency.
- Peel and mash the potatoes coarsely when they are still hot or warm. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Crackle the mustard seeds first. Then add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the green chilies, ginger, curry leaves and asafetida.
- Fry till 7-9 seconds. Add the mashed potatoes and stir well.
- Add salt and sauté for 3-4 minutes on a low flame stirring at times.
- Add the coriander leaves and sauté for 1-2 minutes more on a low flame.
- Serve.
Recipe Notes
If adding lemon juice and coconut, then add them towards the end once you’ve switched off the gas stove. Mix well.
