Vieux Carre: Cognac and Rye Whiskey
This brandy cocktail is a New Orleans classic. While it may be a tad complex, The Spruce recommends that you stick to their original recipe for best results.

Ingredients
- 3/4 ounce Cognac
- 3/4 ounce rye whiskey
- 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- 1 barspoon Benedictine
- cherry for garnish

Instructions
- Combine the ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice.
- Stir well.
- Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a cherry.
