Happy World Cake Day everyone and to those who don’t need a reason to chomp down a delicious cake, here’s a classic recipe of a delicious chocolate cake. It takes just an hour to make if you have all the right ingredients.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsps baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsps baking soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water

Instructions
- Begin by preheating the oven at 350°F and grease the cake mould with butter and then dust with flour.
- Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.
- To this, add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla.
- Mix for two minutes with a hand blender on medium speed.
- Add in the boiling water and mix.
- Pour the batter into the cake mould and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes and check once with a toothpick if they are cooked through.
- Cool the cake first in the mould for ten minutes and then completely on a wire rack.
- Drizzle some chocolate glaze or sauce if you like some icing on the cake, garnish with cherries and serve.
