The Ultimate Foodie’s Guide To The Best Places To Eat In Nariman Point, Mumbai
Nariman Point was one of the first financial business hubs that Mumbai saw. While now other places like Lower Parel and the Bandra Kurla Complex have also become corporate hubs, Nariman Point remains a popular, posh locality for old offices.
To cater to the large amount of corporates that work in the area, there are various establishments from street food joints that provide cheap, quick bites to fine dining restaurants that can host corporate business lunches.
If you find yourself at Nariman Point for work, or to watch a play (the National Center For Preforming Arts is in the vicinity) here are the places you absolutely must eat at.
Street Food
There are a variety of street food options that cater to thousands of customers each day. If you’re visiting these stalls at peak meal hours, be sure that you have the strength to fight to get your order heard.
One of our favourite places to get bhurji pav (spiced scrambled eggs stuffed into fresh pav) is the unnamed street stall outside Maker Chambers IV that pops up post six in the evening. We also love Shree Snacks & Juice Centre for – no surprises here – its fresh juices. Priyanka Fast Foods serves amazing sandwiches; their samosa, cheese and paneer sandwich has acquired legendary status. For carnivores, there’s a large stall just outside Status Restaurant that sells delicious fried chicken. If you’re looking for street food in a comfortable setting, head to DesiKlub, a fairly new causal eatery that serves Mumbai street food with a Western twist.
Pure Vegetarian
Status Pure Veg is both a takeaway and casual restaurant that servers a variety of delicious dosas. If you prefer European dining, head to Spesso Gourmet Kitchen in Regent Chambers or Relish which has both Indian and Italian dishes. Simply Potatoes, in the Inox Mall food court is a good option if you’re looking for a quick vegetarian bites.
