Pinocchio Yellow Cake Recipe
As Geppetto cooks up a delicious meal for Pinocchio after his first day at school he makes a delicious roasted fish for Figaro and this sumptuous yellow cake for Cleo. We couldn’t take our eyes of the big chuck of cake slice with a ribbon around it in Cleo’s fish tank. So here’s the recipe!

Ingredients
- 170 grams unsalted butter
- 300 grams granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour*
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 lemon zest
- 1 1/4 cups Milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp lemon extract

Instructions
- Preheat the oven at 350°F.
- Grease the cake tins with butter and sprinkle flour on them.
- Add flour, baking powder, salt and lemon zest a mixing bowl and whisk.
- In another bowl, beat the butter till it turns light in colour and smooth.
- Whisk on medium speed and add sugar portion by portion till the mixture is light and fluffy and all the sugar is dissolved.
- Then add eggs, one at a time and keep mixing till the yellow colour of the yolk is gone.
- Alternate between adding the flour mixture and the milk.
- Mix it all till well combined and once done, pour the batter into greased tins.
- Smooth the top and bake the cake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or till the toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- Cool the cake for 10 minutes before taking it out of the pan.
