Ingredients
- 2 cups Kothavangarai/cluster beans chopped
- salt to taste
For Grinding
- 1/8 cup Tur dal
- 1/8 cup chana dal
- 2 dry red chilies
For Tempering
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- tsp ½Urad Dal
- A sprig of curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- pinch aof Asafetida

Instructions
- Trim the edges and chop the cluster beans finely.
- Rinse it well and boil it with enough water for the vegetable to get cooked.
- Once the beans turn soft, set them aside.
- Now take both the dals and rinse them well and soak in water for an hour at least.
- Drain the water and grind the dals along with red chilies to a coarse mixture. Steam it for 5-7mins.
- Once done cool down and then crumble it with your hands, set aside. Now heat oil in a wok and add the items listed under 'to temper'. Once they crackle, add the tempering to the dal mix.
- Sauté till golden brown then add the cooked cluster beans and mix well.
- Add required salt.
- Cook for 3mins until the dal mixture blends well with the vegetables.
- Switch off the stove and serve.
