Patrani Machhi Recipe
Patrani Macchi is a popular Parsi dish that calls for steaming chutney coated fish in banana leaves.
The combination of herbs in the chutney, the use of fish and the method of preparing it make it an incredibly healthy dish.
Serve patrani macchi as a starter or with plain rice as a main course.

Ingredients
- 4 banana leaves
- 1 kg white fish sliced or whole
- 1 lemon juiced
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- For the chutney
- 1 Coconut grated
- 6 green chillies
- 50 grams coriander leaves and stems
- 1 tbsp Mint leaves
- 1 tsp ground cumin seeds
- 1 tsp sugar
- salt to taste

Instructions
- Grind all the ingredients for the chutney together until a smooth paste is formed.
- Mix the lime juice and salt together.
- Marinate the fish in this mixture for half an hour.
- Coat the fish in the chutney and then wrap it in banana leaves.
- Enclose the banana leaves with string.
- Steam the fish for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve!
