Instructions
- Cook rice using the regular method. Once done, add a little oil and salt, mix and set aside.
- Heat a pan with oil and add mustard. Once spluttered, add urad dal, channa dal, peanuts and red chillies and fry until golden brown.
- Add green chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida and turmeric and stir well. Add lemon juice and salt, mixing well, and remove from heat.
- Add to the cooled rice and stir well, adjusting salt and sesame oil if required.
Recipe Notes
Tip: For a bright yellow colour for the rice, add more turmeric powder.
