Batti Gul Meter Chalu Actor’s Six-Pack Ab Secrets
Shahid is a pure vegetarian (and he managed to convert Kareena Kapoor into one too!) and includes a lot of beans, spinach, fruits and leafy green vegetables in his diet. He also takes protein supplements and whey protein to ensure that he gets the protein his body needs and energy required to sustain his workouts. Other staple foods in his diet include rice, dairy products, and other protein-rich foods. He usually avoids high fat and high carb foods.
Shahid star followed a strict diet for 40 days which included eating 50 gm of brown rice and steamed vegetables in the entire day for his look in Padmaavat, besides working out rigorously for 2 hours every day. For 15 days, the actor also went off salt and sugar completely to get that chiselled body for his role of Maharawal Ratan Singh.
“The aim was to lose some body fat and gain lean muscles. The training and diet plan intensified 40 days before he began shooting in November with him going off salt and sugar for 15 days when close-ups were taken. Now they start the portions of him in royal costumes and since he needs to look bigger, we’ve added more carbs,” Samir Jaura, Shahid’s trainer said. Shahid is also very particular regarding his meal timings. He consumes 5-6 small meals a day and makes sure that he eats right, both pre and post-workout.
