Burger King Is Seeing Red With Its Brand New ‘Angriest Whopper’

Is there no end to the parade of rainbow burgers? Last year we saw KFC launching a rose burger, McDonald’s launching a black burger ad Burger King Japan serving a red burger. Now, Burger King US has launched a red burger that is meaner, redder and angrier than its Japanese red counterpart; The Angriest Whopper.

The Angriest Whopper

You’re familiar with the Whopper, of course; one of Burger King’s signature products It’s made with a flame grilled beef patty, a sesame seed bun, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup and an onion.

The Angriest Whopper, which has just been announced, consists of similar ingredients, made angrier. It’s made of “a raging red bun with hot sauce baked into it, fire, angry onions, bacon, jalapenos and angry sauce.”

The Whopper, which will launch across Burger King outlets in the US will cost between $5.49 and $7.49.

The Trailer

Aside from its ingredients, the world is all abuzz about the Angriest Whopper because of the ad that Burger King has launched featuring it. Resembling a trailer for an action movie, it  tells consumers that “no matter how intense it gets…the only way to handle the heat is to embrace it.” Check out the ad below:

While the trailer is definitely impressive, we can’t help but wonder; what’s got Burger King so mad? Is it trying to capture the mood of the nation? Or is it just taking advantage of the growing demand for spicy fare? What are your thoughts?
