Fish Lovers Rejoice! All Fish Restaurants Headed Your Way Soon!
Call me biased, but there’s almost nothing better than sitting on the beach, eating rawa fried fish and sipping a cold beer. Bengaluru is a land-locked city, so let’s be honest, it can be tough to find fish dishes that match up their coastal counterparts. However, that’s all about to change as the State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC) is partnering up with Bengali associations in the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune to set up all fish restaurants.
Lucky for us, SFDC officials are planning on starting with a food festival in Bengaluru that’s headed our way in August! If all goes according to plan, all fish restaurants will serve both ready-to-eat fish preparations and frozen and dressed fish items for home takeaways.
The officials plan on conducting surveys to determine Bengali populations in Delhi and Mumbai, before setting up outlets in these two cities. If everything goes according to schedule, stalls in all four cities may well start their operations by the beginning of 2019.
Once these stalls are implemented, thirty-two different fish items, based on popular varieties like rohu and Katla, also a number of items like Chanos or milkfish, can be found in ‘All fish’ outlets. So, come August, you’ll know where to find me!
