Game Of Thrones Lemon Cake Recipe

on

We’re preparing ourselves for a Game of Thrones binge session; it’s been way too long. Along with some awesome, homemade mulled wine we plan to enjoy some other Game of Thrones themed food while watching; one of the dishes we’re most excited about feasting on  is a lemon cake, inspired by Sansa Stark.

Sansa’s  Obsession With Lemon Cakes

In both the Tv show and the Game of Thrones series of books, Sansa Stark, an important character from Houe Stark from Winterfell is in love with lemon cakes. In Season 3 of the show, Sansa opens up to Olenna and Margarey Tyrell about Joffrey’s abysmal behaviour over some lemon cakes, while in Season 4, Shae tries to tempt Sansa with lemon cakes while she grieves the loss of her mother and brother.

Her love for the cakes can be explained when we consider geography; citrus fruits only grown in Dorne in the Seven Kingdoms, making them a rarity and a delicacy in Winterfell. Lemon cakes, therefore are almost akin to gourmet food.

Are you craving some lemon cakes now? Go ahead and give this recipe a shot and then join us on a binge episode watching!
