There’s been a bounty of research of late which proves that our caffeine habits may be doing you a world of good. For instance, this study that indicates that tea can ward off dementia.

Now, three’s yet another study which points to the health benefits of tea.

Tea To Chase Away Diabetes

The study was published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It suggests that since tea leaves contain polyphenols, they can reduce glucose in adults and therefore control spikes in n blood sugar levels.

“After water, tea is the second most commonly consumed beverage in the world and this new research adds to already published studies which suggest that it is good for health and well-being benefits,” said Dr Tim Bond of the Tea Advisory Panel. ” In effect, these polyphenols seemed to lower the Glycaemic Index–the relative ability of a carbohydrate food to increase the level of glucose in the blood–of the sugary drink,” he added.

Remember, that loose leaf teas always work better than tea bags; try some before you brew your next cuppa.
