Ingredients
- 1 cup uncooked rice soaked for 15 minutes and drained
- 1 tsp Oil
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds jeera
- ½ cup onions finely chopped
- a pinch of Asafetida hing
- 12 Ginger grated
- 2 tsp Green chilies finely chopped
- ½ cup sliced tendli ivy gourd
- ½ cup green peas
- salt to taste
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder haldi
- ½ cup brinjal cubed
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
For Dry Spice Powder
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds jeera
- ½ tsp coriander seeds dhania
- 3 Cloves
- 6-7 black peppercorns

Instructions
- For dry spice powder, sauté the spices in a pan and grind into a fine powder.
- Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds.
- When the seeds crackle, add the onions and asafetida and sauté on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the ginger, green chilies, rice, tendli, brinjal and green peas. Mix well and sauté on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes
- Add 2½ cups of hot water, salt, turmeric powder and dry spice powder, mix well and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
- Garnish and serve hot.
