McDonald’s Launches New Web Series: ‘What’s Cooking’
With the kind of tools available today, everyone can create content on the internet. Global fast food chain, McDonald’s is using that to its advantage; it’s just began broadcasting a new web series on YouTube which aims to show customers the process behind creating McDonald’s menu items.
“What’s Cooking?”
The web series, which is entitled ‘What’s Cooking?’ is being hosted by McDonald’s executive chef and vice president of culinary innovation Dan Coudreaut.
“Through this video series, we will showcase our commitment to our food philosophy, Simpler is Better,” a McDonald’s spokesperson said to Fortune.com. “We’ll also spotlight all the recent changes we have made over the last 18 months that show that we are making changes in line with the needs and expectations of today’s consumers.”
Cracking the Secret Of The Egg McMuffin
The first episode of the web series was published on September 26th and explored the origins of the popular Egg McMuffin.
The Egg McMuffin, Chef Coudreaut tells us, was created in Santa Barbara when an Eggs Benedict lover, Herb Peterson, had an egg ring made so that he could create a hand held Eggs Benedict. The egg is then placed atop an English muffin and gets topped with cheese and Canadian bacon.
