Some McDonald’s In San Francisco Are Now Serving A Snow Crab Sandwich
Very often, McDonald’s takes inspiration from local cuisines and flavours for their menu. In India, for instance, McDonald’s serves a wildly popular McAloo Tikki burger. Now, four McDonald’s in San Francisco are serving a Snow Crab Sandwich.
Competition For The Filet-O-Fish
At present, McDonald’s most popular seafood item is the Filet-O-Fish burger. However, some are predicting that the new sandwich will prove to be stiff competition for the burger.
The Snow Crab sandwich blends snow crab with mayonnaise, diced celery and also has tomato slices and romaine lettuce in a sourdough bun.
The sandwich has been developed by McDonald’s chefs as well as Ryan Scott, a Bay Area chef and ‘Top Chef’ contestant.
We wanted to test our own take on the beloved crab sandwich,” said Nick Vergis, McDonald’s Co-op President for the Greater Bay Area, said in a statement. “We’re excited for our customers to try it and share their feedback.”
Should the sandwich receive positive feedback, it will be rolled out to all 250 McDonald’s in the Bay Area.
