2 Ingredient Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Don’t be startled by the title, this is the truth! We have discovered a really easy recipe to make chocolate mousse in the comfort of your own homes. It takes two ingredients – water and dark chocolate – and a little work with the whisk and you have a magic dessert right there in your home. Hervé This, a French physical chemist with a PHD in molecular gastronomy, invented the recipe. All it takes is melted chocolate and water, mixed together in an ice bath till nice and thick.
An ice bath, for those that don’t know is when you fill a bowl with ice cubes and cold water, place another bowl on top of that and then pour your mixture in. It keeps the top bowl and the contents cold, which makes it easier to whisk. This is also how you can make whipped cream using heavy cream. The ice bath works wonders, but remember that in the Indian weather, the ice bath can melt really quickly too!

- Break the chocolate into smaller pieces
- Pour a cup of water over the chocolate
- Melt the chocolate in the water till it's nicely mixed together
- Transfer this mixture into an ice bath
- And instantly start whisking it till it's nice and thick
Make sure that the mousse doesn't become grainy, because then you'll have to remelt the chocolate and start over.
The ice bath needs to be very cold, otherwise it won't thicken
