Ingredients
- 3 cups chopped bread cubes or 5 to 6 bread slices chopped in cubes
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds/rai
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds/jeera
- 1 cup medium onion finely chopped or ⅓finely chopped onions
- 1 green chili/hari mirch finely chopped
- ¾ - 1 tsp inch ginger/adrak finely chopped or 1finely chopped ginger
- 6-7 curry leaves/kadi patta chopped
- 2 cup medium tomatoes finely chopped or ½finely chopped tomatoes
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder/haldi
- ¼ tsp red chili powder/lal mirch powder
- pinch aof asafoetida/hing optional
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves/dhania patta
- salt as required

Instructions
- Take the bread and cut it into cubes.
- Now in a pan, add 2 tbsp of oil.
- Once the oil is heated, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds.
- Once they splutter, add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds.
- Saute until they crackle and change colour.
- Now, add ⅓ cup chopped onion.
- Stir and saute until they become translucent.
- Now, add 1 green chilli, 1 tsp finely chopped ginger and 6 to 7 curry leaves.
- Saute for about 10 to 12 seconds.
- Now, dd ½ cup finely chopped tomatoes. about 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped.
- Now, add ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ¼ tsp red chili powder and a pinch of asafoetida
- Saute well. Add salt to taste.
- once the tomatoes soften and oil is released from both sides, add the bread and mix well
- Saute the bread until they become crisp at the edges.
- Now garnish with coriander leaves and serve
