Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Butterscotch Recipe
Whenever we’re craving inspiration for some new sweet treat to whip up in the kitchen we look to Roald Dahl. His books are littered with references to food, especially chocolate – not surprising considering his personal weakness for it. Today, we’re share a recipe from Roald Dahl’s Revolting Recipes for Butterscotch which makes its appearance in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Butterscotch and butter gin were Willy Wonka’s latest inventions when the children visited the factory; here’s how you can get a taste of the butterscotch yourself.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 ounce light corn syrup
- 2 1/2 cups skim milk
- 3 ounces plain yogurt

Instructions
- Melt together the butter, sugar and corn syrup over low heat stirring constantly.
- Add 1/4 cup milk and then remove.
- Whisk in a few more tablespoons of milk and then whisk in the yogurt.
- Add the rest of the milk and allow the mixture to cool.
- Chill and then serve.
