Ingredients
- 2 cups sabut urad dal
- 8 cups Water
- 2 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp ginger finely sliced
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 2 tsp shahi jeera
- 1 tsp kasoori meethi
- 2 cups tomato purée
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1.5 cups Cream
- green chillies slit lengthwise for garnishing

Instructions
- Add water, salt and the ginger to the dal and cook until the cooked.
- Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add shahi jeera and kasoori methi to the pan.
- Once they splutter add tomato puree, chilli powder, sugar and the rest of the salt.
- Sautee over high flame.
- Add the dal that has already been cooked and bring to boil.
- Leave to simmer until it had been well blended.
- Add the cream and serve immediately.
- Garnish with green chillies.
