FRIENDS Spaghetti Recipe
Prepare for a bout of nostalgia; we’ve been watching some old FRIENDS episodes and completely cracked up during this scene:
Of course, we’d pick living with the Joeys of the world over living with the Monicas, just like Rachel did. At the same time, we would be similarly outraged if good spaghetti was wasted that way. And, this spaghetti looks particularly delicious, doesn’t it? Here’s a recipe for a similar spaghetti; serve it for lunch or dinner with a side of white wine – it’s the weekend after all!

Ingredients
- 1/1 pounds plum tomatoes peeled and halved
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 1/2 tsp sea salt powder
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 6 quarts Water
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 1/4 cup fresh basil minced
- 6 tbsp Parmigiano-reggiano cheese grated

Instructions
- Finely chop the tomatoes.
- Heat two tablespoons of the oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic for half a minute.
- Stir in the tomatoes, half a teaspoon of salt and pepper.
- Cook over medium high for 15 minutes, adding a little water and mashing the tomatoes with a spoon until a pulp forms.
- Boil the water and remaining salt.
- Once it boils, turn down to simmer and add the pasta.
- Cook and return the water to a boil.
- Cook for 8 minutes and then drain the pasta, reserving half a cup of water.
- Mix the pasta and water with the tomato paste and cook in a pan over a medium flame, tossing constantly.
- Place the spaghetti in a serving dish and sprinkle with the cheese.
- Serve and enjoy!
