Ingredients
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion leek, shallot, or green onions
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (1 ounce)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil or parsley crushed
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce or steak sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon granules
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound ground beef*
- 1 pound ground pork*
- 8 onion buns hamburger buns, split and toasted
- 1 recipe Mustard Sauce
- leaves Lettuce optional
- slices Thin tomato optional
- slices Thin red onion optional
- Dill pickle spears optional
For Mustard sauce
- 1/3 cup stone-ground mustard
- 2 tablespoons beer or apple juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or steak sauce

Instructions
For Mustard Sauce
- In a small bowl combine mustard, beer, honey, and Worcestershire sauce.
For Grilled Burger
- In a large bowl combine egg, the water, onion, cheese, basil, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon granules, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Add beef and pork; mix well.
- Shape meat mixture into eight 3/4-inch-thick patties.
- For a charcoal grill, grill patties on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 14 to 18 minutes or until done (160 degrees F), turning once halfway through grilling. (For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place patties on grill rack over heat. Cover; grill as directed.)
- Serve burgers on buns with Mustard Sauce. If desired, top with lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices, and serve with pickle spears.
