Kada Mutta Roast- Kerala Spicy Quail Egg Pepper Roast, is a great dish with dry and spicy gravy and is popular mainly in Kerala. Is a quick and easy starter, appetiser or can served as a side dish. It involves hard boiled quail eggs and flavorful pepper based masala. It can be served as a side dish along with phulka, paratha, appam or even with rice.

Ingredients
- 15 quail eggs hard boiled
- 2 onion thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic crushed
- a small piece Ginger crushed
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp pepper powder or according to your spice level
- 2 green chilly sliced
- 2 sprig Curry Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Fennel powder/perumgeeraka podi
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
- salt to taste

Instructions
- Add water and salt to a saucepan and hard boil the eggs for 10 mins.
- Keep the boil eggs in cold water for 2 mins, then remove the shell and keep it aside.
- Marinate the eggs with coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, salt, crushed ginger and garlic. Keep it rest atleast for 5 mins.
- Heat oil in a non stick frying pan and add mustard seeds. Allow it to splutter.
- Add sliced onion, curry leaves and green chillies, fry until onion turn soft and translucent.
- Add marinated eggs, and 1/4 cup water. Keep in low flame for 3 minutes, so that onion will get cook along with egg and spices.
- When it turn dry, stir well and add fennel powder. Combine well and adjust salt.
- Serve along with phulka or rice. Enjoy, happy cooking and stay healthy.
