Muthira Puzhukku Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup horsegram
- 1/2 cup raw banana washed, peeled and cubed
- 1/3 cup Grated coconut
- 2 tsp chilly powder
- 1 tbsp jaggery
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- salt to taste

Instructions
- Soak the horsegram in water for ten hours.
- Drain the water from the horsegram and pressure cook it in a small amount of water for three whistles.
- Remove the lid from the pressure cooker, turn the flame down to low and continue cooking the horsegram for twenty minutes.
- Cook the banana in a little water with salt.
- Add the banana to the horsegram and sprinkle in the chilly powder, jaggery and salt to taste.
- Stir well.
- Allow the mixture to boil for three to four minutes.
- Add the coconut, stir and allow the mixture to simmer for a few more minutes.
- Add the coconut oil and stir.
- Serve the puzhukku!
