Navaratri Sooji Halwa Recipe
On the occasion of Ashtami, we’ve decided to share the recipe of Sooji Halwa, a prasad which is basic on this auspicious day. Depending on various households, it is made on either Ashtami or Navami. Here’s a simple recipe that you can try.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sooji
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 4 powdered green cardamoms
- 10 cashews cut in halves
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1 cup Water

Instructions
- Heat ghee in a deep vessel and add suji.
- Once the suji is slightly toasted add the water, pouring slowly and mix continuously.
- Once the water begins to reduce, add the sugar and powdered green cardamom and mix well.
- Keep stirring and you'll observe the mixture thicken into a halwa, once you reached the desired consistency switch off the flame.
- Garnish with raisins and cashews and serve.
