Tandoori Roti Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups ½of whole wheat flour
- tbsp ½oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- cup ¾water
- 1 tbsp ghee

Instructions
To knead the dough
- Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl
- Add ½ tbsp oil
- Add the water
- Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together
- Knead for five minutes or until the dough becomes soft and smooth
- Shape balls the size of large lemons out of the dough
- On a rolling board flatten the ball into a circle and sprinkle a little flour on top of it
- Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a thin circle
Cooking the roti
- Once the dough is rolled out, spread water evenly over the rolled dough
- Place the roti (rolled dough) on a hot tava
- As the roti cooks, you will see the dough begin to rise in bubbles
- Allow the roti to cook for a minute on a medium flame
- Hold the tava upside down (the roti will stick to it) over a low flame, allowing the other side of the roti to cook.
- Rotate the tava so all sides of the roti are cooked evenly
- Remove the roti from the tava using a flat spatula
- Spread a little ghee on the roti
- Serve hot!
