Instructions
  1. Preparation of Batter
  2. Soak tur dal, chana dal and urad dal together in water for 2 hours.
  3. Coarsely grind rice in a mixer grinder.
  4. Add curd, salt and asafetida to the ground rice and leave it for 2 hours.
  5. Take out the soaked dal and grind them coarsely. Mix this with the curd-rice mixture.
  6. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and mix well.
  7. Preparation of Thavala adai
  8. Take a thick pan and heat it on low flame.
  9. Heat 1 teaspoon sunflower oil.
  10. Add 2 ladles of batter in the pan. Add 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil around the batter and close the pan with a plate.
  11. Heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
  12. Turn the half formed dosa to heat the other side of it. Add 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil around it again.
  13. Close the pan with the plate and heat for 3 to 4 minutes. Cook throughout on a low flame.
  14. Serve.
