Upma Kozhukattai Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups of Rice Rava
- 3/4 cups of Scraped Coconut
- 4 cups of water
- salt to taste
- For Tempering
- 2 tbsp of Coconut oil
- 1 tsp of Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp of Channa Dal/Kadala Paruppu
- 1/2 tbsp of Urad Dal/Ulutham Paruppu
- pinch aof asafoetida
- 1 or 2 chopped Green Chillies
- Few curry leaves

Instructions
- In a Kadai, add oil.
- When the oil is heated, add mustard seeds.
- Once they splutter, add channa dal and urad dal and stir until the dals turn golden.
- Now, add the asafoetida, green chillies and curry leaves and stir for a minute.
- Add the water. The water should be in ratio to the rava. one part rice rawa and 2 parts water.
- Now, add the coconut gratings and salt to taste. Let it come to a boil.
- Now, lower the heat to medium and slowly add the rice rava all the time continously stirring.
- Keep stirring until all the water is evaporated.
- Let the mixture cool.
- Dipping your hands in water, roll small golf-sized balls of upma.
- Roll the entire upma.
- Now in a pressure cooker, add some waters and add the balls of upma. Close the lid and pressure cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
- serve hot.
