Why Did Domino’s Ask This Artist To Paint On Their Pizzas?
After launching their new pizza car delivery service (tailored to be sure that pizza never gets cold), Domino’s has yet again reminded us why it’s one of the world’s best loved pizza chains. For their 30th anniversary, the mega chain commissioned Nathan Wyburn to turn their pies into works of art.
Movie Stars On Pizza
Domino’s, which has been in the UK since 1985 conducted a nationwide poll to discover the country’s favourite iconic film stars and film moments. Wyburn, who has previously appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011, then recreated images of the stars using pizza bases, tomato sauce, cheese, olives, pepperoni and peppers which were all (naturally) sourced from the Domino’s kitchens.
Among the characters immortalised on the pizzas were Marty McFly from Back to the Future, Elsa, from Frozen (wonder what song popped into your head just then), Edward Cullen from Twilight and Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey.
These look almost too good to eat, don’t they? Almost.
More Pizza Art
Since we’re on the subject of pizza art allow us to introduce you to another artist that has made pizza bases his canvas; Elia Mulargia. Mulargia uploads some truly drool-worth photographs of pizzas on his Instagram account with portraits of The Beatles, Angelina Jolie and Albert Einstein.

While we’ve got to take our hats off to the artists for their talent and technique, we’d also like to express our amazement that they were able to resist the temptation of eating the pizza while they were working. We wouldn’t have been able to hold out; would you?
