7 Things You Don’t Know About Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay. The name says it all doesn’t it? If you are a foodie and you don’t know who Gordon Ramsay is- Um, we don’t know what to tell you. His restaurants, ranging far and wide, have been awarded 15 Michelin Stars, currently holding 14. If you don’t know him from that, you must have seen him in Hell’s Kitchen or our beloved MasterChef series.

Born in Scotland in 1966, Gordon Ramsays family moved to England when he was 5 years old. After an abusive childhood he moved to his own apartment in Branburry at the age of 16. And now the hot-tempered chef is one of the world’s leading restaurateurs with 22 restaurants (6 of them are Michelin starred!). His fan pool is enormous and loyal. But even if you are his biggest fan we bet you didn’t know some of these less-known facts about him.

An almost professional football star

At age 12 he was chosen to play for the under-14 team for Warwickshire. He also played a couple of testimonial matches for his favorite team, Rangers FC. His career was cut short due to his injuries.

More than just culinary skills?

Gordon Ramsay worked in Wroxton House Hotel as a commis chef in the early 1980s which ended when he was caught having an affair with the owner’s wife.
