Ingredients
- 3 ounces quartered chicken
- salt for seasoning
- Pepper for seasoning
- Ghee as required
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 2 tbsp ginger powder
- 2 tsp Cumin powder
- 2 tsp ground yellow mustard seeds
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tbsp turmeric
- 1 1/2 tsps cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- Salt as per taste
- 2 cups Water

Instructions
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry the chicken.
- Put the fried chicken in a casserole.
- In the chicken fat left behind in the pan add garlic and onion sauteing till the latter is golden brown.
- Now add the sauteed onions and garlic to the casserole plus ginger, cumin, mustard seed, cinnamon, cloves, turmeric, cayenne, and paprika.
- Saute them all and add the rest of the ingredients leaving out the garnish.
- Now cover the casserole and the chicken simmer for 45 minutes or till tender.
- Take the dish out in the serving bowl, garnish it and serve hot with pav or steamed rice.
