You Can Celebrate the Queen’s Birthday Too, For Only $90,000
Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 90th birthday on April 21st with photo shoots with the younger generations, her grandchildren and so much more. But a pastry chef at Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans has taken celebrating her birthday to a whole new level with a gold-encrusted cake valued at $90,000, or $1,000 to mark each year of the Queen’s life.
Chef Shun Li made a mini dark chocolate cake, layered with a Cristal champagne fruit sauce made with raspberry and passion fruit, then covered in gold-covered chocolate, gold-covered strawberries and a gold-dusty chocolate crunch. And if that’s not enough, on top of that cake is 24-carat gold encrusted and topped with a regal cherry in a form of a 3.95-carat ruby and diamond ring from a local antique store.
Available for the next three months, this dessert will only be at Windsor Court Hotel. So not only do you have to find a way to get to New Orleans, you also need to have enough money to eat this dessert.
Better starve and start saving instead.
