Jamie Oliver Offered The London Fire Victims & Their Family Free Food
Last week London witnessed one of the worst fire accidents the city has ever seen. The fire that broke out at Grenfell Tower in West London engulfed the entire residential structure with 70 injured and at least 12 confirmed dead. But while the fire authorities took care of the casualties and disaster site, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver went a step further to comfort the victims and their families.
Oliver took to Instagram to announce that his restaurant, Jamie’s Italian outlet located at Westfield White City, will be open as shelter with free food for all the victims.
“To any of the 100’s of FAMILIES effected by this terrible fire at Grenfell Tower Notting hill today, You are all welcome to come hang out in my restaurant and be fed and watered by my Jamie’s Italian team. We are in the Westfield just around the corner. Food and drink free of charge so just go and speak to my manager Juan and we will sort you out and give you some love…. this is for victims of the fire our thoughts, love and prayers are with you all big love jamie”, the post read.
Jamie Oliver’s eatery, which is situated just around the corner from the tragedy, acted as a shelter and relief for many while the food too was nothing short of a saviour. People were quick in appreciating the chef’s gesture and showered his Instagram post with likes and admiring comments.
