Kellogg Co Recalls 10,000 Eggos And The Internet Worries About Stranger Things’ Eleven
Major cereal manufacturer Kellogg Co announced that it is recalling 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles due to fears of contamination.
The Recall
Kellogg made the announcement on its website on Monday, saying that the waffles may have been exposed to listeria.
“Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” Kellogg wrote in a statement. “The company has received no reports of illness to date but is taking this action as part of its commitment to the health and safety of the people who eat its foods.”
The concerns were raised after routine testing of the products, and Kellogg recalled the Eggos in 25 states.
Twitter Concerns For Eleven
While Kellogg worried itself about listeria, there was an amusing spin to the story on Twitter, where people began to worry about Eleven, a character on Stranger Things.
In Stranger Things, Eleven has an obsession with Eggos and even uses her telekinetic powers to grab a bunch of them from a supermarket. Here’s what Twitter had to say:
There's been an #Eggo recall. Eleven sure is going to be disappointed. pic.twitter.com/8iOgyhrvPw
