Instructions
- Make the Syrup first.
- Set a deep saucepan on the stove with the water.
- Turn the heat on.
- Add the sugar.
- Allow the sugar to melt completely.
- Lower the heat to simmer.
- Add the saffron strands.
- Add the cardamom powder.
- Allow this syrup to get to a golden colour.
- Turn off the heat.
- Add the spoon of milk.
- For The Gulab Jamoon Rounds
- Soak the bread in Milk and squeeze out the excess.
- Transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Add the milk powder.
- Add the cardamom powder.
- Add the saffron strings.
- Add the baking powder.
- Add the rose essence.
- Now blitz all this in a food processor.
- Make the dough into small balls.
- Fry in oil to a dark gold.
- Soak it in the prepared syrup
- Allow three hours to soak in the syrup
- It is ready to serve.
Recipe Notes
The 1 teaspoon milk added to the syrup will prevent the syrup from crystallizing. Enjoy!
