Copycat McDonald’s Aloo Tikki Burger Recipe

- 4 large boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1/4 cup uncooked poha
- 1 tsp dry basil
- 1 tsp dry oregano
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Gram Flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Water as needed
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for shallow frying
- 6 burger buns
- 10-12 slices onions

Instructions
- Soak the poha in water for about five minutes, drain and set aside.
- Mash together the potatoes along with the poha, basil, oregano, cumin powder, chilli powder, pepper powder, coriander powder,turmeric powder, garlic powder, peas and salt.
- Mix well using your hands and divide into six equal portions.
- Make patties out of each portion and refrigerate them for half an hour.
- Make a batter using all three flours, salt, oil and water as required to get a thin consistency.
- Put breadcrumbs in a bowl and begin dipping the patties in the batter and then coating it with breadcrumbs.
- Once done, refrigerate the patties once again for another half an hour.
- Heat the oil for shallow frying and fry the patties till you get a golden colour on both sides.
- Drain the excess oil on paper towels and keep the patties aside.
- Mix the mayonnaise and the ketchup in a bowl.
- Grill the burger buns on a saucepan till crispy golden.
- Spread the mayonnaise and ketchup mixture on the insides on the buns and place the patties.
- Finish with onion slices and the topmost bun.
- Serve hot.
