Kolhapuri Chicken Curry Recipe
An extremely popular Indian recipe, it is made in authentic Kolhapuri style, in which the chicken pieces are marinated in curd and spices. The same traditional recipe has been followed for many years, and even a slight variation in the recipe will cause a difference in taste.

Ingredients
- 1 kg Chicken
- 2/3 cup of yoghurt
- 1 tbsp of Turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp of Red chilli
- 1 tbsp of garlic paste
- 1 tbsp of lime juice
- 2 tbsp of peanut oil
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 Cloves
- 1/2 tbsp of crushed black pepper
- 2 onions finely chopped
- 2 tbsp of Grated coconut
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 2 tbsp of Oil
- 1 tbsp of coriander leaves

Instructions
- To the chicken, add turmeric powder, red chillies, garlic paste, salt, lime juice and curd. Mix it well. Marinate it for half an hour.
- To the pan, add oil and heat it. Saute bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, crushed black pepper and chopped onions till the onions turn translucent.
- Add grated coconut. Saute till coconut colour changes. Add tomatoes. Cook for 10 minutes. Cool and mix it well in a blender.
- Heat oil and add the marinated chicken to the pan. Cook for 25 minutes on low fire. Stir regularly. Add paste and simmer on low flame for five minutes.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
