Onam Special: Kuttu Curry Recipe
Kuttu curry, a traditional side dish in Kerala sadhya pairs excellently with rice! Cooked with raw banana, yam, channa and coconut, this is a must have for your traditional Kerala sadhya.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup of Raw green plantain
- 3/4 cup of Elephant yam
- 1/2 cup of Black channa soaked overnight
- 1/2 tbsp of Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tbsps of chilly powder
- •Salt to taste
- 1 cup of Grated coconut
- 1/2 tbsp of Cumin seeds
- 1/4 tbsp of Pepper Corns
- –3 garlic cloves
- 1 Green chilies
- 2 tbsp of coconut oil
- 1/2 tbsp of Mustard seeds
- 1 Dry Red Chilli
- a few curry leaves

Instructions
- Cook the banana and yam in water. Add the turmeric and salt. Cook until the vegetables turn soft.
- Grind grated cocont, cumin seeds, pepper, garlic and pepper corns into a semi paste.
- Now, to a pan, add the cooked vegetables, channa and the above paste . Saute it till the smell of coconut fades.
- In another pan, heat the coconut oil, pop the mustards. Once its done popping, add the curry leaves and the red chili.
- Dry roast coconut until it turns reddish brown.
- Now, add the above two to the cooked vegetables and mix it well. Make sure that you add sufficient water and salt when required.
