Roald Dahl Liquid Chocolate Recipe

on

Foodies everywhere worship ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory‘, a book by Roald Dahl turned movie for the exquisite candy treats it opens our eyes to. Haven’t seen the movie yet? We strongly suggest watching it as soon as possible. Until then, here’s a clip to show you what you’ve been missing:

In case you didn’t catch on, everything in the room is edible. The grass. The flowers. The river. Everything. For us, the most impressive element of the room is that magnificent chocolate waterfall, which Willy Wonka explains is the secret to mixing chocolate perfectly in his factory.
Here’s what Chocolate mixed by the waterfall tastes like –

…”Charlie put the mug to his lips, and as the rich warm creamy chocolate ran down his throat into his empty tummy, his whole body from head to toe began to tingle with pleasure, and a feeling of intense happiness spread over him.”

The chocolate waterfall and river, as people who have read the book or seen the movie would know, is an important plot point in the story.

Liquid Chocolate

Overcome with greed for the chocolate before him, Augustus Gloop begins drinking chocolate directly from the river, much to Willy Wonka’s horror who tells him it will contaminate the chocolate. In a form of justice, Gloop falls into the river and is sucked up by the tubes that carry the chocolate across the factory. We’ll stop there, lest you lose your appetite.

Instead, allow us to let you into the secret of making chocolate that tastes like it was mixed by a waterfall at home! This recipe comes from RoaldDahl.com, a website dedicated to all things Roald Dahl. It’s extremely simple to make, and sure to delight children and adults alike. Serve it as a topping for any sweet dessert.
