Queen Bey’s Birthday Cake Cost A Whopping $3,500 (Or More)
This week marked one of the most celebrated and iconic ones in the world of music, for it was the Queen’s birthday. Singer, songwriter, and (recently) mom to three, Beyoncé Knowles turned 36 on Monday (4th September). And the world took a moment out of their lives to wish her a grand one. Everyone from the singer’s mom, Tina Lawson, to Michelle Obama and Serena Williams wished the pop icon the best. But the real showstopper was Beyoncé’s birthday cake. Here’s why.
As part of her star-studded birthday gala at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia on Sunday with Jay-Z, the singer celebrated with a stunning black and gold cake made by Cake Life Bake Shop in Philly. Queen B’s fierce golden outfit inspired the equally stunning three tier cake from this year’s Grammy Awards.
“Obviously we were looking at [inspiration] and things like that, but making the cake is a two-day process,” co-owner of Cake Life Bake Shop, Lily Fischer, told Page Six. The geode-themed cake came not only with an extravagant exterior but a heft price tag as well. According to the cake makers, their geode cakes “start at $3,500 and go up in price depending on detail, complexity, and size”. And looking at Beyoncé’s cakes, we’re sure it cost nothing less than a couple thousand dollars!
Complete with a golden crown, the cake was not only what Beyoncé was treated to. There were also a bunch of mini treats including cookies and other bakes that made their way “to a private area behind the festival stage”, revealed a source.
Well, the cake was fit for a queen. And a queen it served.
